How to Choose Best Stroller For Baby

When you are looking to buy a stroller there are a number of features to look out for and different permutations and combinations of the same may work for some people and may not work for others. So let's begin!

1. Recline Position: Babies need a full 180 degrees or flat position till they can sit without support. And once they can sit without support, they prefer to sit upright so that they can look around. Strollers usually come with multiple reclining positions so check what works for you.

2. Sturdy wheels & Solid suspension: Your baby deserves a comfortable and smooth ride, especially on rough surfaces or roads. So, look for strollers that promise the same. And also make sure that you get one that has lockable back wheels and also front swivel wheels if required.

3. Harness: Ensure that it has a five-point harness for younger babies and a three-point harness for older ones. And the harness lock should not be easily openable by babies as well.

4. Washable & breathable cushioning: Babies can be messy! you know what we mean... So make sure that the cushions that are being used are washable and comfortable for the babies.

5. Adjustable & Reversible handle: Some strollers come with an option of reversible handles which means that you can turn the baby towards yourself. And some even come with adjustable handles and you can increase or decrease the height according to the comfort of the parent.

6. Peekaboo window: In case, you do decide to go with a stroller with reversible handles, but still want to keep a check on your baby then go for a stroller that has a peekaboo window.

7. Ease of folding: Some strollers have a one-hand or one-touch umbrella fold that is super convenient especially when you are traveling alone with your baby. Some bulkier strollers, however, have a partial fold that requires both hands to pack them up.

8. Light & Compact: Keep in mind that light and a compact stroller is the thing to go for if you are planning to use it while traveling or you plan to carry it in a car/taxi and also have lesser space to store it away.

9. Climate protection: These features are completely dependent on the climate of where you live, or where you are traveling. So depending on that ensure that you have a stroller that has a sun canopy with UV protection, a mosquito net, a rain cover, or a footmuff if required.

10. Cup Holder & Feeding Tray: If you are planning to use the stroller for longer periods of time as then a cup holder for parents or a feeding tray for the baby is very useful for a quick snack even while on the move.

11. Storage space: A strong spacious basket below the stroller can come in mighty handy to store some of the baby's things or even some shopping while you are on the move. Also, lookout for a small pocket on the back of the stroller seat that you can use to store essentials such as baby wipes.

We know this seems like a long list but it is important to look at all these features when buying a stroller as it is a product that you may retain for a long time and your child could continue to use till he/she is almost three years old or even a little bit older than that.
